After selling Tri-Planar types for over 5 years, I will say that I am only comfortable selling thse to gyms and residential users that are mostly needing a machine for working out and body building. All the tri planar machines that I know of do NOT start out at under 20 hertz.Â

They lack the slow lymphatic and therapeutic benefits except massage which tri-planers can do at high speeds. They don't have the milking motion that can drain fluid by creating a negative pressure in the lymph vessels but none of the tri planar companies that I work with claim they do what the low hertz machines will do.

There are many tri-planar models on the market but the ones that I like the most are engineered to only give a slight side to side and front to back movement and over 90% linear. The uncontrolled motion in 3 planes is what gives the workout it is known for. Just a little side to side and front to back motion can make a huge difference in stabilizer muscles, especially when doing squats.

Dual motor Tri-planer machines: Dual motors model are not as simple to design and are more expensive to build. The better dual motor models have a smoother vibration and they must have a weight of at least over 200 lbs. Newer designs have cast iron frames and do not move across the room due to the side to side and front to back vibration.Â

Single motor tri-planer machines are also good but cannot support as large of a plate. On single motors, with heavier weights on the models I sell, it tends to bottom out with heavier people and gets less linear when standing near the tippy edge.

For lighter people, the single motor tri-planers I have tested are fine.
